On April 1st, Idlewood Community Association completed revival of charter registered with Maryland’s Department of Assessment and Taxation dating back to 1990.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
ICA has been reinstated as formal non-stock business and can operate at full capacity and recognized as an official entity. As we establish the presents of ICA, this includes doing business and legitimizing the brand and community advocacy. Revival of the charter is the first process in ICA filing 501c non-profit status with the IRS.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN AS A HOMEOWNER IN IDLEWOOD?
The charter revival does not affect your taxes, ownership, or rights; nor does it pose any additional cost to you. THIS DOES NOT MEAN A COVANENT IS PLACED ON NEIGBORHOOD PROPERTIES. ICA has no current plans to act as a formal HOA with mandates and provisions. Operating as a formal entity allows for opportunity to enhance the community, influence community leaders to make changes, and apply for grants.
WILL ICA FILE FOR NON PROFIT STATUS?
Yes, ICA plans to file as an official non-profit entity with the IRS to take advantage of philanthropy, partnership, donation, and grant opportunity to enhance the idlewood experience.
As we increase productivity and organization as an entity we stress even more your membership and active participation in community events and advocacy. As a homeowner it is a wise advantage to take part in ICA for safer cleaner community. Research proves a strong community association results in safer neighborhoods and consistent increasing property values by 20%+.
